Platter of tacos

I had heard the name Bakersfield–the California city-named taco/tequila/whiskey joint on Mass Ave–so many times and from so many (disparate) types of people that I just had to go figure out what the buzz was about. Well, I instantly got it. Everything is cooler in this place. Even the ice cubes are cooler (they are large, perfect cubes, with only 2-3 fitting in your water glass at a time). You can’t help but feel like you have your finger on the pulse of the city when you are there. I am writing this post after three visits (a business lunch and a casual mid-afternoon snack).
